A Different Perspective
20th Century master Wassily Kandinsky said
"Of all the arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colours, and that you be a true poet."
Join us as we experience visual poetry of three of New Jersey's most gifted abstractionists Larry McKim, Peter Arakawa and Vivian McDuffie.

Emma Amos
Art that inspires LOOKING.LEARNING.LIVING
February 2 - March 24 2013

Emma Amos uses applications from several disciplines; combining painting, printmaking and textiles. These large, multi-layerd works may be bordered with African fabric, incorporate sewing, applique and quilting or her own weavings, each element combining to make a seamless work of art. Her subjects are a commentary on the preconceived notions about art and society.
"I hope that the subjects of my paintings dislodge, question, and tweak prejudices, rules, and notions relating to art and who makes it, poses for it, shows it, and buys it."
Her artwork is included in the collections of MOMA, NJ State Museum, and the Newark Museum, and has been the recipient of prestigious grants and awards.
